akode

plugin for aRts

aKode is a new multithreaded audio library that provides aRts with plugins to play a variety of formats: MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Musepack (MPC), FLAC and Speex. aKode also focuses on performance, and so it means a big enhancement for users runing aRts in non-realtime mode.

It also supersedes mpeglib, which you may safely uninstall once you install the akode package.

This package is part of KDE, as a component of the KDE multimedia module. See the 'kde' and 'kdemultimedia' packages for more information.
